Located at 5770 W. Pico Blvd & Fairfax Ave, Nivessa is a music store that features over 100,000 titles including a variety of genres such as rock, R&B, pop, jazz, hip-hop and many more. Crammed with vinyl records, CDs, cassettes, DVDs, rare memorabilia and collectibles, we have something to stir up everyone's nostalgia. Nivessa is a community-focused, open-minded music lover's paradise, eager to provide a source of connection and creativity that not only entertains but also inspires.
We believe that music is a powerful force that transcends personal and superficial barriers. Music brings people together and creates a sense of community, and Nivessa is the place to connect and discover new music.
Our Story
In March 2020, Jon started Nivessa in his living room. It began by visiting estate sales and record shows to try to score gems. The apartment quickly became filled with records, taking up every room in the house (under the beds, and in the cabinets). So he relocated to a 200 sq ft spot on Pico & Robertson. It was essentially a closet – of vinyl. As we prepare to open our doors in Hollywood for Nivessa #2, we're grateful for the journey until now. None of it would be possible without the incredible support of our cherished music community – YOU are the pulse of Nivessa, and we're appreciative of every note of it.

Together, this dream team has created a record store that is more than just a place to buy music. It's a community hub for music lovers of all kinds. It's a place where you can discover new music, connect with other fans, and experience the magic of music firsthand.
Jonathan H.
Jon is the driving force behind Nivessa. His entrepreneurial spirit is as infectious as his love for music and yearning for nostalgia. The humble, easy-going, passionate music maven has an innate ability to bring people together and is the head of the snake. Tirelessly scouring collections daily to expand our unmatched selection, he is effortlessly the heart and soul of Nivessa.
Daniel O.
Daniel, aka Dusty Grooves is a jack of all trades. He built the Hollywood store from scratch and continues to improve it with his can-do attitude. Daniel's been collecting vinyl for 20+ years and specializes in Latin 45s. You can catch him playing your tia's favorite cumbias or enhancing the store's ambiance with his expert craftsmanship and innovative ideas.
Colin
With a love for talking to visitors and curating, you'll likely find Colin organizing our inventory or helping a customer find their next favorite record. Colin can go deep into any genre of music but, as a Boston native, can be passionate about hometown heroes such as Jonathon Richman and the Lemonheads.
